Megan Rebekah's The Write Stuff has a great idea for a crit group. I think we should follow suit because I really need some help and accountability.
We could have a private blog where we post our stuff and crtique each others work. We could set deadlines, maybe pick a day of the week to post. Then everyone can meet once a year to go to a writers conference.
I need some more input on all of this though.
What do you guys think? Who's in? I'm totally serious about this. Either comment here or e-mail me and let me know of any ideas and who would like to do this with me.

I'll participate if you want to create it. I think it's a good idea to have as many eyes on our work as possible. And I like your comment about accoutability. I've ALWAYS had a problem with that! ;)

It just occurred to that you might want to create a womens' group, since many of them seem to be one gender groups. If so, that's cool with me. I certainly didn't mean to just invite myself. :)

ReplyDeleteI think we should all go to the Writers Digest conference in September! It can be our first. And it's exactly what we all need at this stage of our careers -- help with the first 50 pages and help getting an agent.
But then, I'm flexible ... ;)
I'm already in a critique group, and I would highly recommend anybody serious about writing join one. They're invaluable!
