I definitely can't deny the greatness of it. Kubrick was brilliant and, aside from Men in Black, this movie is the only thing I've liked with Vincent D'onofrio in it. ;)
One of the all-time best movies in my opinion. I posted his "Happy Birthday to Jesus" song on FB at Christmas, but I don't think anyone but my daughter appreciated it!
My family quotes this movie ad nauseum.
We'll have to get you to one of our family reunions - ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
I love this scene! One of the all time greats! Here's link to a soundboard from it:

Brings back too many fucking memories!
ReplyDeleteI remember I got a clipboard upside the head for looking at something while marching. Good times ...
Reminds me of a book I read in high school called MAGGOT, about marine boot camp. Unforgettable!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marty. Great website.
ReplyDeleteSorry Terry, but I have to ask, what were you looking at?
I'll have to check the book out DL.
That movie scares the CRAP out of me!

ReplyDeleteGreat scene selection. I absolutely Love FMJ! I love how it's like two separate movies cut in half.
ReplyDeleteAnd Pyle's character transformation is so creepy yet realistic.
~Meleah, It's pretty intense...
ReplyDelete~Kimberly, I'm not so fond of Men In Black.
~Geof, Very well said.
